There are many kinds of centrifugal pumps, including single-stage single-suction centrifugal pumps, single-stage double suction centrifugal pumps, vertical single-stage centrifugal pumps, and vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps commonly used in our irrigation area.
A type of horizontal centrifugal pump is mainly composed of a pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, sealing ring, shaft sleeve, and suspension bearing. The type pump body and pump cover are divided from the back of the impeller, which is commonly known as the back door structure. Its advantage is that it is convenient for maintenance. During maintenance, the pump body, suction pipeline, discharge pipeline, and motor are not moved. Just remove the intermediate connection of the extended coupling, and then exit the rotor part for maintenance.
The pump housing (i.e. pump body and pump cover) constitutes the working chamber of the pump. The impeller, shaft, and rolling bearing are the rotors of the pump. The suspension bearing component supports the rotor part of the pump, and the rolling bearing is subject to the radial force and axial force of the pump. To balance the axial force of the pump, sealing rings are set in front and behind the impellers of most pumps, and balancing holes are set on the cover plate behind the impellers. Because some pumps have little axial force, sealing rings and balancing holes are not set on the back of the impellers.
The axial seal ring of the pump is composed of a packing gland, packing ring, and packing to prevent air inlet or a large amount of water leakage. If the impeller of the pump is balanced, the cavity with soft packing is connected with the suction inlet of the impeller. If the liquid at the inlet of the impeller is in a vacuum state, it is easy to air along the surface of the shaft sleeve. Therefore, a packing ring is installed in the packing cavity, and the pressure water in the pump chamber is led to the packing ring through the small hole on the pump cover for sealing. If the impeller of the pump has no balance hole, there is no air leakage problem because the liquid pressure on the back of the impeller is greater than the atmospheric pressure, so the packing ring can not be installed. To avoid shaft wear, a shaft sleeve is installed at the part where the shaft passes through the packing cavity for protection. There must be an O-ring between the shaft sleeve and the shaft to prevent air intake or water leakage along the mating surface.
The transmission mode of the pump is connected with the motor by lengthening the elastic coupling. The rotation direction of the pump is clockwise from the driving end.
The suction inlet and discharge outlet of the SH single-stage double suction pump are below the axis of the pump, and the horizontal direction is vertical to the axis and the pump shell It is not necessary to disassemble the water inlet during maintenance. The discharge pipeline and the motor (or another prime mover) can be seen from the direction of the coupling to the pump, and the water pump rotates in the reverse direction. It can also be changed to clockwise needle rotation according to the special order needs of users.
The other main parts of the SH single-stage double suction pump are the pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double suction seal ring, shaft sleeve, bearing, etc. Except that the shaft is made of high-quality carbon steel, the rest are mostly made of cast iron.
The pump body and the pump cover form the working chamber of the impeller. The inlet and outlet flanges are provided with pipe screw holes for installing vacuum gauges and pressure gauges, and the lower part of the inlet and outlet flanges is provided with pipe screw holes for discharging water.
After static balance verification, the impeller is fixed with the shaft sleeve and the shaft sleeve nuts on both sides. Its axial position can be adjusted by the shaft sleeve nuts. The axial force of the impeller is balanced by the symmetrical arrangement of its blades, and there may be some residual axial force borne by the bearing at the coaxial end.
The S-type pump is supported by rolling bearings with a shaft diameter less than 60mm at the bearing, which is called an A-type SH type pump; The bearing larger than 70mm is supported by Babbitt sliding bearing, which is called a B-type sh pump. Now many pumps larger than 70mm also use rolling bearings. The type of pump is supported by two single-row radial ball bearings, which are installed in the bearing bodies at both ends of the pump body and lubricated with grease. The double suction sealing ring is used to reduce the water leakage of the water pressure chamber of the pump back to the suction chamber.
The shaft seal is a soft packing seal. To cool and lubricate the sealing cavity and prevent air from leaking into the pump, there is a water seal ring between the packing. When the pump is working, a small amount of high-pressure water flows into the packing cavity through the water seal pipe to act as a water seal.
